The Noro method of Kinomichi was created by Masamichi Noro in Paris,1979. Kinomichi is an art of Japanese origin in the tradition of Budo (martial art philosophy/education). This non-competitive athletic discipline based on non-violence can be practiced by everyone and is officially recognized by the Ministry of Sport in France.
Kinomichi favors a dynamic practice, similar to its origins in Aikido. The ideas of Ki (energy), Shin (heart) and Do (way) are the foundations of this art. Practice can be done alone, with one, or several partners. Techniques with the jo (short staff) and bokken (wooden sword) are also taught. Kinomichi integrates concepts of spiral, contact, union and harmony through techniques and manners of approach and contact. The progressions include initiations 1-7 and are based on the six fundamental movements and applications with the jo (jo-dori), bokken (bokken-dori), among others.
The KIIA (Kinomichi Internationl Instructors Association) is currently the head governing body. KIIA forms part of FFAAA (French Federation of Aikido Aikibudo and similar disciplines).
The Association of Friends of Kinomichi of Valencia (AVAK) is the governing body of Kinomichi in Valencia. You can find information on when and where you can practice regurarly as well as other useful information about weekend courses and practice abroad.
